THE LEADERSHIP TEAM

  • GUS ARIANTO - CEO

    Gus Arianto continuously strives to lead Pierlite to insurmountable success in his role as CEO. Gus is an experienced business leader and has led Pierlite’s transformation over the last four years. Motivated and proactive, he has been instrumental in the reorganisation of the sales force which has seen major success. Leading by example, Gus has strong management and leadership skills which he actively utilises to mentor and develop his team.

    Gus has extensive experience in accountable leadership positions. He worked with one of the most successful global building product companies, James Hardie, as a senior leader. His leadership roles have developed his strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. This has provided him with expert knowledge of the property, construction, engineering, IT and building industries.

    Gus has a Bachelor of Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering from Swinburne University and a Diploma of Management from Charles Sturt University. His experience and education have enabled him to have a strategic approach to management and the ability to think laterally, allowing him to develop innovative solutions that address customer needs.
  • ANDREW SMYTH - GM SALES, AU

    Andrew Smyth is the General Manager of Sales for Pierlite Australia and is responsible for leading the sales team to deliver exceptional customer service. With the aim to deliver a consistent experience to customers, Andrew’s role is focused on an inch wide mile deep strategy around market segmentation, with an additional focus on supporting Pierlite’s wholesale market.

    Prior to his role at Pierlite, Andrew held a number of senior leadership positions such as the Sales Manager for USG Boral and General Manager for Hadar Homes. These positions have enabled him to identify current and future market opportunities, become an advanced negotiator and strengthen his strategy skills.

    Andrew has several credentials including the Melbourne Business School Leadership Development Course, Diploma of Human Resources, and the Australian Institute of Management Finance for Non-Finance Manager’s Course. Additionally, he holds senior voluntary positions as a Region and District Commissioner for Scouts Victoria which has honed his communication skills and further developed his leadership capabilities.
  • LILY SHEN - HEAD OF FINANCE

    Lily Shen is the Head of Finance at Pierlite and is responsible for managing all financial governance responsibilities for the business. Lily applies her 15 years of experience as a commercial finance partner working across lighting, fast moving consumer goods, and industrial products, to ensure Pierlite’s financial success.

    Prior to her current role, Lily worked as a financial controller at both GLG and GE Lighting. Her extensive finance skills, combined with her leadership role at Pierlite, allows her to confidently control finance-related business process improvements and variance analysis.

    With a Bachelor of Business, majoring in accounting from Western Sydney University, Lily has broad experience in corporate accounting, controllership, compliance, and financial audits. Lily also has strong technical expertise in all major aspects of financial management and governance. For example: budgeting and forecasting, variance analysis, statutory reporting, taxation, transfer pricing, currency exposure management (technical/operational hedging), cashflow management, and treasury reporting. Lily is also familiar with international financial reporting standards, including, Sarbanes Oxley and US GAAP.

    Lily has other qualifications in Finance Management and Organisational Leadership from GE Crotonville which, together with her extensive experience have further advanced and developed her strong managerial skills and people management expertise.
  • MEAGHAN SPENCER - PEOPLE & CULTURE MANAGER

    Meaghan initially joined Pierlite as Human Resources Business Partner in 2020. However, her talent for people and human resources quickly became clear, and she was promoted to become People and Culture Manager after less than a year at Pierlite.

    Meaghan brings to the team over six years of experience in human resources, talent management, organisational design, and industrial relations. She is also no stranger to the industrial sector, possessing previous professional experience in manufacturing, warehousing, retail, and not-for-profit.

    Alongside her work experience, Meaghan has a Bachelor of Business (Management and Human Resource Management) from Queensland University of Technology. She is currently based in Pierlite’s Melbourne office, but her significant influence extends to the company’s interstate and international branches. Meaghan’s key responsibilities include policy design and implementation, wellbeing, industrial relations, employment relations, and recruitment.
  • INDIRA SURESH - HEAD OF IT

    Head of IT for Pierlite Australia and New Zealand, Indira Suresh is responsible for systems, applications, IT infrastructure and vendor management. Recently, Indira has led the Systems Applications and Products (SAP) implementation at Pierlite with great success. She is highly skilled in the implementation of core Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), integrations and business applications.

    With over 25 years of experience in IT, Indira is an expert in her field and has held many leadership positions prior to her role at Pierlite. These positions include Head of IT APAC at James Hardie, Head of Systems and Applications Manager at Citadel Computers and Systems, and Applications Manager at Zilco International. These positions helped strengthen her people management and leadership skills.

    Indira has a Bachelor of Science as well as a certification in Computer Programming and Organisational Management. Her extensive experience and qualifications mean that she has an unrivalled skill set in project management, IT systems management, business process acumen and operational cost management.
  • KIERAN ROUTH - GM, OPERATIONS

    Kieran Routh is an experienced leader in operations and international supply chain management. Currently the General Manager of Operations, Kieran has over 17 years of experience in operations including extensive knowledge of manufacturing, supply chain, international trade, warehousing, and logistics.

    Since joining Pierlite in 2015, Kieran has held a number of leadership positions. Prior to his current role, he was the International Sales and Operations Manager at Pierlite and the International Supply Chain Manager. Before Pierlite, Kieran worked for PAX Australia as the Manufacturing Manager and then the Planning, Demand and Supply Manager. These positions enabled him to gain skills in international supply, supplier negotiations and end-to-end operations. This has allowed Kieran to help lead Pierlite to success, by implementing seamless and efficient supply chain systems throughout the company. 

    Kieran has a Bachelor of Business (Logistics and Supply Chain Management) from RMIT. He is an expert in project management and analytics, understanding how to optimise supply chains for success.
  • LYDELL STOKES - GM, FUTURE MARKETS

    Lydell Stokes is the General Manager of Future Markets. He is responsible for empowering Pierlite to be successful both today and in the future, by driving innovation and developing market-leading solutions beyond traditional lighting. With a focus on transitioning Pierlite to Industry 4.0, Lydell’s teams enable applicable innovation, scalability, transparency, sociability, agility, and speed to market.

    Lydell joined Pierlite in 2019. Immediately prior to this, he was the Director of Xchange Consulting where he equipped stakeholders with clear and effective strategies to improve their commercial outcomes relating to change and technology integration, with a focus on business opportunity realisation. Before this role, Lydell was co-owner of A2K Technologies. In this position, he held an active leadership role across all market segments. This saw him provide complex results-based consultancy for governance and integration-related services.

    Lydell is highly skilled in digital change management and integration, strategic sales, creating “as a service” business models, and new market and technology development. He has an Associate Diploma of Business Management and continuously improves his learning by undertaking numerous certifications in leadership development, sales strategies, and personal and emotional development.
  • JAMES EWART - COUNTRY MANAGER, NZ

    James Ewart is the Country Manager for Pierlite New Zealand and is responsible for the overall performance of the New Zealand business. James also leads safety and wellbeing programs and initiatives across Pierlite Australia and New Zealand.

    Beginning his role at Pierlite in 2020, James is committed to setting a strategy for his team that allows them to sustainably deliver on their ambitions. He is committed to developing the leadership and company culture that generates greater success. With an analytical and detailed financial acumen, James helps manage profit and loss cash flow, and ensures Pierlite continues to grow.

    Previously, James worked as the New Zealand General Manager at GWA Bathrooms and Kitchens, Australasian and Middle East Sales and Distribution Manager at Fletcher Building Roof Tile Group and General Manager of Sales at James Hardie. These roles strengthened his skills in strategy, planning and execution; change management; and leadership of large and diverse teams.

    James has a Postgraduate Diploma of Business from Auckland University and a New Zealand Certificate in Engineering (Civil).

THE MANAGEMENT TEAM

  • PHIL PAYNE - REGIONAL GM, NSW

    Phil Payne is Pierlite’s Regional General Manager of NSW and ACT. He joined Pierlite in 2017 as the Professional Sales Manager of NSW and ACT before progressing to regional manager. Every day, Phil leads different Pierlite departments to success, and is responsible for managing the NSW and ACT trade, project, lighting design, and sales support teams.

    Phil is a highly seasoned management professional with decades of experience in sales and marketing management, as well as national and general management. He possesses over 30 years of experience specialising in the professional project lighting market in Australia and Europe. This extensive background in lighting and management makes him the perfect fit at Pierlite.

    Phil completed a Postgraduate Diploma of International Marketing at Northumbria University, as well as a Bachelor of Architectural Design at the University of Kent. Phil’s variety of academic and professional experience has made him an expert in people management, key account management, business development, industry relationship management, sales, and strategy.
  • DARREN DALE - REGIONAL GM, VIC/SA

    Darren has been working with Pierlite since 1994. During his time at Pierlite, Darren has worked in a range of roles including Customer Service Representative, Sales Representative, Sales Manager, State Manager, and now as Regional General Manager of VIC and SA. After decades of Pierlite experience, Darren truly knows the company and the lighting industry inside and out.

    Darren has worked across all aspects of Pierlite and has been a highly influential team member from day one. He has experience across four different states and territories around Australia and has been involved in numerous acquisitions of various lighting brands. Additionally, Darren has helped transition Pierlite through three different owners by ensuring a smooth migration process.

    As Regional General Manager at Pierlite, Darren’s key responsibilities include profit and loss management across VIC and SA, general and sales management, and major contractor management. Darren’s company-wide experience over the years has informed the effective strategies and initiatives that he produces every day.
  • KARLIE MEREDITH - HEAD OF MARKETING

    Karlie joined Pierlite over 10 years ago as a Marketing Coordinator. Since then, she has excelled in her positions and has climbed her way up to become the Head of Marketing. Experience in managing customer loyalty programs and close management of sales funnels are some of the many skills that Karlie brings to this role.

    Karlie is a highly experienced marketer and has obtained numerous qualifications, including a Bachelor of Business and Marketing from Charles Sturt University, a Postgraduate Diploma of Wine Business from the University of Adelaide, a Marketing Week Mini MBA, and a Data-Driven Marketing and Advertising Certificate from the ADMA.

    As Head of Marketing, Karlie is responsible for implementing and evaluating Pierlite’s marketing strategy to achieve sales targets in the wholesale channel. Karlie also develops and implements marketing campaigns and manages programs around improving Net Promoter Score (NPS) and customer satisfaction.
  • SHARON PAINTER - NATIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGER

    Sharon joined Pierlite in 1999 and has enjoyed working in a range of departments. Sharon is currently Pierlite’s National Customer Service Manager, but prior to this, she has been Pierlite’s Production Planner, National and International Head Office Sales Coordinator, NSW Sales Team Leader, Purchasing Supervisor, and Business Improvement Coordinator. Overall, Sharon is equipped with 34 years of experience in the industry and has been a valuable member of Pierlite in every department in which she has worked. 

    Sharon is responsible for managing Pierlite’s Aftersales Team to ensure the best outcomes possible. She is also responsible for coordinating national sales support processes across Australia and driving an alignment between sales, sales support processes, and systems. In this role, Sharon has helped establish Pierlite’s process stability and discipline throughout the sales support network to optimise the customer service experience.

    Sharon has a formidable skill set that enables her to excel in her role and lead with expertise. These skills include the management of people, projects, procurement, and critical situations.
  • DINO PANEBIANCO - REGIONAL GM, WA

    Dino Panebianco is an experienced and well-respected leader with over 30 years of industry experience behind him. He joined Pierlite in 2009 as State Sales Manager before climbing the ranks to become Pierlite’s Regional General Manager of WA.

    Dino has worked extensively in the electrical industry in sales and regional management roles. Throughout his career, he has worked closely with market-leading brands and secured strong business relationships with key stakeholders.

    After over a decade with Pierlite, Dino has a deep understanding of the company’s operations. His expertise has enabled him to confidently lead different departments to success, including WA’s State Sales Team. As Regional General Manager, Dino also specialises in regional profit and loss management to ensure the company maintains a sustainable income and expense ratio. Additionally, Dino is an expert in maintaining strong contractor and electrical wholesaler relationships. His talent for stakeholder communication has helped establish Pierlite’s prominent position in the electrical and lighting industries.
  • DANIEL BOURKE - REGIONAL GM, QLD

    Daniel Bourke possesses an impressive compilation of senior management experience. Daniel joined Pierlite in 2019 as Regional General Manager of Queensland and has since achieved numerous triumphs during his time at Pierlite.

    As Regional General Manager, Daniel has a number of key responsibilities that ultimately ensure the company’s profitability and sustainable growth. Each day, Daniel develops and implements business strategies that align with the corporate strategic direction of Pierlite. He manages his region’s financial operations by preparing annual business plans, budgets and forecasts, ensuring KPI targets are met, analysing monthly sales data, and increasing the company’s market share.

    Daniel is also a formidable leader and continually supports his teams by clearly defining roles and accountabilities, communicating objectives for market leadership, and providing feedback and mentorship.

    Daniel persistently strives towards growth, which is reflected in his ability to identify future business opportunities and projects. Daniel also seeks growth in his own professional development and has obtained multiple qualifications, such as an Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management, Advanced Diploma of Business, Advanced Diploma of Program Management, and a Certificate III in Electrotechnology.
  • JON BELL - NATIONAL ACCOUNT MANAGER

    Jon joined Pierlite in 2017 as Trade Sales Manager of NSW and ACT and has since been promoted to National Account Manager of Pierlite Australia. Jon is equipped with over 20 years of experience in senior management positions in the lighting industry and has worked with industry-leading companies such as Phillips Lighting. In his previous roles, Jon has been a State Manager, Retail Channel Manager, OEM Manager, Key Account Manager, and Sales and Marketing Manager.

    As Pierlite’s National Account Manager, Jon is responsible for managing the relationships with Pierlite’s key accounts on a national level. To create strong B2B relationships, Jon oversees a range of high-level negotiations with senior customers. This involves developing trading terms and strategy alignment, as well as driving the National Sales Team to deliver outcomes reinforcing the agreed strategies with customers.

    Jon has a critical ability to establish effective strategies around national customer groups and then ensure those strategies are successfully executed by his teams.
  • MARK SNYMAN - MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING MANAGER

    Mark Snyman is the Manufacturing Engineering Manager at Pierlite. Beginning at Pierlite in 1996, Mark has over 25 years of experience in engineering management. Leading a team of design and test engineers, Mark ensures that every Pierlite product is best in class and compliant. Each day, Mark manages the Engineering Design and Innovation Centre as they work to find design solutions to support clients’ requirements.

    With over 36 years of experience in the manufacturing and lighting industry, Mark has held several positions in the engineering and design sector. Prior to working at Pierlite, Mark worked at numerous lighting companies in South Africa. Beginning at Pierlite as an Industrial Engineer, Mark soon transitioned into a Production Manager role and then a Production Engineering Manager role. In these roles, Mark developed his problem-solving skills regarding lighting product design, mechanical design, and his ability to provide inter-department support.

    Mark has completed an Advanced Diploma in Industrial Engineering. This qualification has helped develop Mark’s ability to design solutions for special projects and bespoke fittings. Mark is an expert at conceptualising lighting design and providing practical solutions for a variety of lighting problems.
